Work out Routines for the legs

If you are looking to get back into shape for whatever reason, you will need a good work out routine. You have to devise a routine for every part of the body that you want to improve. Let’s work on a routine for your legs. Your legs are one of the easiest routines to plan out. There are literally hundreds of exercises that you can do to strengthen the legs and get them back into shape.

One of the best exercises of the legs is walking. You don’t have to be a speed walker. Brisk walking can improve your overall leg muscles. Walking 3 times a week for 20 minutes a day can help build up your stamina too. Working out on a treadmill is a great way to get a good work out for your legs. You can build muscle and get a great cardio workout.

If you don’t have access to a treadmill and walking is not for you. There are some exercises you can do in the privacy in your own home. You can begin with leg raises. Lie down on your side and lift your legs as much as you can off the ground. Do a set of 20 for each leg. You can also lie flat on your back and do the same. Raise each leg about a foot off the floor. You will feel the strength in your thighs.

For your calf muscles, you can do toe raisers. Stand with your legs spread slightly apart. Then bend your knees slightly and rise up on your tip toes. You will feel the calves muscles begin to burn. Do a set of 10; you can do more or less if you feel comfortable. But don’t over do it. As you get more and more into shape you will be able to do more.
